From 5 January 2008, transporters or attendants using road vehicles for transporting farm animals, poultry or horses in connection with an economic activity must had an appropriate assessment of competency.

The regulation covers :

 

· fitness for travel

 

· means of transport

 

· use of its facilities

 

· loading, unloading and handling

 

· water and feeding intervals

 

· journey times and rest periods

 

· rest allowances

 

· documentation
